VKIDFT Mannuthy NSS Unit (1&2) organised various programmes on World Environment day on 5th June 2023.The theme for this year was #BeatPlasticPollution.
A very auspicious tree plantation programme was organised in our college. By 4.30 pm Dean, VKIDFT Dr.S.N.Rajakumar sir ,NSS programme officer Dr.Jose Mathew sir and volunteers planted two tree saplings in college ground. Before planting they gave speech on importance of observing Environment day and the adverse effects of plastics on nature. Also, we pledged to conserve the trees that we have planted.
Based on the theme of Environment day 2023 World #BeatPlasticPollution Volunteers collected plastic wastes from the campus ground.
Volunteers made eco-friendly seed paper pens on the occasion of World Environment Day. Body of pens is made of paper . Inside the body of every pen, there is seeds of spinach. Once the pen stops writing, it could be torn down and planted. The refill, made of plastic, can be recycled. This product can beat plastic pollution and spread spinach seeds. The pens were released with a theme “ Let your pen sprout and breath!” The pens were distributed to teachers and non teaching staffs of our college.
